Tuesday Jose and Leslie went back to Daeyang Luke hospital to finish the CPR class. However, it looks like it may be just the first one... Jose is thinking that, if the head nurse agrees, he should teach one or more of the best students to become CPR teachers, then they can spread the knowledge as new folks are hired, etc. One of the clinical officers, Edwards, is pictured with Jose in the ED. He showed a real interest in the class. Jose is going back in the morning (Thursday) to give a serious look at the ambulance and the drivers. Also on his 'getting fuller by the minute plate' is teaching CPR to the ABC clinic staff (his second course there), and teaching CPR to the Academy teachers, lifeguards and anyone else on campus interested.
While in the ED on Tuesday, Jose noted a nurse struggling to start an IV on a little one (under 2 years old). For those of you who do not know him, he has a real heart for kids. He offered his services and got the IV started... the child was quite ill, anemic (hemoglobin less than 3), and needed an IV iron infusion. Jose was glad he was there and could help.
