Monday Jose and Leslie went to the Daeyang Luke hospital (the new Korean hospital here in Lilongwe) and set up the first CPR course. Thanks to Robert Twite at ACTNT (http://www.actnt.com/) , we have a couple of great videos and the Mini Baby and Mini Anne to practice on. The videos are great, and the students understand that parts of it (like calling 911) are specific to the USA. There is essentially no '911' type service here. Today they return and do another course. Looks like Jose will be teaching CPR all over the Korean hospital and the ABC campus. The students are so attentive and interested in learning. Jose says they ask really good questions. It is exciting to come along side this enthusiastic group of learners! Jose will also be working with their ambulance service. My Monday in the clinic was particularly stressful and depressing. Mentally I know that we do whatever we can with our limited resources, but it is still difficult to have a child 'entrusted' to me not doing well.....
Today Jose and Leslie go back to the hopsital - it is Leslie's last day here in Malawi. I return to the clinic to see what else is in store for me! Keep us all in your prayers!
